So I'm a bit of an outdoor enthusiast and I've got this growing collection of fishing rods, camping poles, and other long gear that I've been struggling to store properly in my garage in Ras Al Khaimah. I used to just lean them against the wall but they kept getting knocked over, stepped on, or covered in dust and spider webs which is just gross. I tried those cheap plastic tubes but they're either too flimsy or too short for some of my longer rods. Anyway, I was researching storage options and stumbled across this industrial supplier called Crateco that seems to have a really interesting range of large containers. What really grabbed my attention was these long jumbo crates with lids that look absolutely perfect for what I need. They're spacious enough to lay my gear flat without bending anything, and the lids would keep all the dust and creepy crawlies out. I'm thinking of getting a couple and maybe even fitting some foam inserts to keep everything snug and protected. Has anyone here used these for recreational gear or is that overkill? I'm also a bit curious about how portable they are when fully loaded because I'd love to be able to throw one in the back of my pickup when heading out for a weekend trip. Do they have decent handles or are they more meant for stationary warehouse use? I'd appreciate any insights from people who've actually handled these things, especially around how well the lids seal and whether they'd keep moisture out during humid conditions.
